Mürzbetrachtungen

Julian Palacz follows the course of the Mürz river, from a personally significant point – his family home – to its origin. The river becomes a resonating space in which real and imagined memories interweave. The examination of traces ties in with the artist’s earlier works – from the investigation of hidden transportation routes in Handle With Care to the analysis of surveillance structures in public space in his Surveillance Studies. The focus is always on making hidden processes visible and their effect on our perception.
